This large metal firing grid with protective cage is ideal for firing silver clay on a gas stove. The grid is used directly as a base for your jewelry piece during heating. Place the protective cage over the piece to provide extra safety in case the jewelry unexpectedly cracks or breaks during the firing process. This rarely happens and is usually caused by insufficient drying, but the cage offers additional reassurance.
The grid is also useful for placing your piece on before drying.
