Texture Mat Hearts in Bloom Embossed
This Cool Tools texture mat is washable, reusable and suitable for adding texture and patterns to silver clay (metal clay) and other types of soft clay. The flexible texture mat makes it easy to impress the pattern into the soft clay.
Using with silver clay
First, roll out the silver clay to the desired shape and thickness. For example, use the 1.5 mm white spacer strips as guides.
Before using the texture mat, apply a thin layer of release agent, such as silicone release agent or a small amount of olive oil. This helps prevent the silver clay from sticking to the texture mat.
Place the silver clay on the texture mat between the 1 mm transparent spacer strips, using them as guides, and carefully roll over the clay. The spacer strips help keep the clay at an even thickness.
Using with polymer clay
The texture mat can also be used with polymer clay, such as Fimo, Premo and Sculpey. Talcum powder, for example, can be used as a release agent.
