This flat cloisonné wire made from pure fine silver is ideal for enameling on copper or silver. Because the wire contains no copper, it produces no copper oxides that could discolor the glass — perfect for clear and transparent enamels.
Cloisonné wire is used to form small cells (“cloisons”) that are filled with enamel powder. After firing, the glass melts into a smooth, glossy surface with delicate silver lines.
This fine silver wire is also excellent for wire wrapping or use with silver clay (Art Clay Silver). It is soft, flexible, and tarnishes less quickly than sterling silver. Cleaning is easy with a silver dip bath.
