This Japanese enamel contains lead in powdered form. During firing, it melts and forms a solid, glass-like layer that encapsulates the lead (provided it remains undamaged), preventing direct contact or release. However, always work in a well-ventilated area, wear a dust mask when handling the dry powder, and use gloves. This enamel is not suitable for use by children.
